The idea of Traditional Concepts originated on the farm ground of Sheridan, Indiana. The owner, Derek Delph, grew up raising hogs and farming corn and soybeans. Since he was a little boy, he always had a burning passion and love for the outdoors. Once graduated from high school, Derek, pursued his dream of becoming the 1st generation collegiate scholar in his family. Derek earned a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics at Purdue University. While at Purdue, Derek worked relentlessly studying agronomy and joined the soil judging team to further advance his knowledge on the outdoors. Once graduated from college, he joined Stine Seed as a research technician. This allowed Derek to truly understand soil and the earthwork involved to promote healthy agricultural practices. He then went on to join United Feeds where he used his expertise to lead and cultivate each account and promote quality customer service. Afterwards he joined Allscape, a landscaping company, as the Operations Manager. Derek realized that his ultimate goal was to share his passion with others on a personal level and then started Traditional Concepts, his very own landscaping company. Traditional Concepts strives on creating genuine relationships with its clients by providing excellent customer service, quality projects, and lifelong friendships.
